Poem from:
Are you ready? by John Corless

Half-Eleven Mass
Corless, John
And the priest breathed in,
And the congregation breathed in,
And the priest opened his mouth to deliver the word of God,
And the congregation opened their ears to receive the word of God,
And the priest began to deliver the word of God,
And it went over the heads of the congregation,
And out the door and down the street,
To Aldi, where the thoughts of the congregation were queuing,
For the hairdryers for two-ninety-nine at twelve o’clock.
And the priest was glad that he was bald,
And the congregation was glad that he was bald,
And Aldi were sad that he was bald.
One less hairdryer at two-ninety-nine
At twelve o’clock.
